A couple of weeks ago, Dr. Janina with Séparée magazine contacted me. She said her staff had found our shop, and she loved the jewelry. Would we mind letting her feature one of our designs as a “lust object” in Séparée Magazine?
At first I was hesitant. Erotica in the States usually isn’t something you leave on your coffee table. As a matter of fact, the majority of erotic productions here in the states is pretty awful.
Not that I have a problem with erotica. I don’t. With a sister whom writes erotica fantasy, how could I have a problem with it?
However, I’ve been approached by ‘erotic’ companies before. And by ‘erotic’ I mean poorly produced truck stop trash. The kind that leaves even the most open minded, sexually liberated person feeling the need to wash their eyeballs out
Yeah, no thanks.
After doing a couple of hours of research which included a trip to Separee.com. I was pleasantly surprised and genuinely excited to work with Dr. Janina and Séparée!

If you don’t live in Europe, or don’t read German you might not know what Séparée Magazine is.
Let me introduce you. Séparée is a tastefully produced, high end and artfully shot erotic magazine in Germany. Think Playboy meets Vanity Fair, but for both Guys and Gals.
Their publication is packed with beautifully photographed scenes of folks both clothed, and artfully nude, sprinkled amid relevant articles about a variety of topics that read more like Cosmo in it’s better days than an erotic print.
It’s a beautiful magazine, certainly something I wouldn’t feel at all awkward about leaving on my coffee table (unlike the majority of ‘erotic’ publications here in America).
From empowered ladies in business suits to a gentleman slowly shedding his clothing in an antique light boutique, this is a magazine worth picking up even if you don’t read German.
I found myself casually ‘flipping’ through the PDF proof version on my tablet while at a party packed with people. I was so captivated by the beautiful photos, I didn’t realize I’d gathered a crowd until someone poked me in the side and said “Can you go back to the last one?”
Jan was even impressed, and that is hard to do.

And there we are, the Daisy Chain right in the lower right hand corner of page 84. How awesome is that?
You can’t actually get a physical copy in the states without contacting the company directly. but I highly recommend at least picking up the digital one. I used Google to do some translating for a couple of the Articles, or you can make an adventure of it and wander around asking everyone in sight if they read German. That would be interesting!
If you want to just jump in with a digital copy on your E-reader, you can pick on up here.
Special thanks to Janina and the Séparée staff for letting us be a part of their beautiful magazine!
